cute /kjuːt/ adjective adjective: cute; comparative adjective: cuter; superlative adjective: cutest Meaning: attractive in a pretty or endearing way. ex: "she had a cute little nose"

This message fell upon me while I was listening to a Sister In Christ speaking.

It was a conversation about what God is calling people to do in this season, which is... To obey.

Obedience is not particularly a feel-good message. No one wants to hear, "Obey first and understand later" which is basically God's modus operandi. No one wants to hear that the reason why their blessings are held up and delayed is because they have refused to do things God's way. No one wants to hear that they cannot receive God's blessings without His approval. I know this because I have walked the journey of delayed obedience-it did not end well. And, I did not want to hear any of it.

This is just one of the many things God calls us to do and be that aren't necessarily cute. I have known the God as The Terrible One (Jer 20:11) and I have known Him as The One who will give people in exchange for my life (Is 43:4). I have seen God's harsh judgement over my now past sins and I have seen Him hold me tight as I came back as a prodigal. I watched Him put a crown over my head a few weeks ago, so I know that He is a God who is both lover and fighter, when needed.

I understand how loving God is and how crazy His commands seem-sometimes. So, I feel the "uncuteness" of this message.

But now that you are here, you need to know this: That though God's messages to us are most times not nice to hear, popular to follow or settling to consider, they are the standard to live by. The reason why God's standard seems so offensive today is because it is meant to be. The world's standard solely and completely runs parallel to what God put in His Good Book to follow. How then can two walk together except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3). That is why the two standards can never mix. You have to choose one and forsake the other for you to see how different the two spaces are. Mixing the two standards cannot work, this ends in disaster.

If today you are battling with truly following God, I will tell you this: if you are waiting for God to be more appealing so that you can consider Him, please don't. He has never changed. He is still the great and mighty God who parted the Red Sea for the Israelites and brought the plagues upon the Egyptians. he has not stopped doing miracles, signs and wonders and He has not stopped commanding obedience and a pure and living sacrifice. (Rom 12:1)

It takes a mind of Christ to understand both sides of God and still love Him. It only takes the heart of Christ to pursue this God. I pray for you today if you are still trying to understand God. If you are still on the fence with Him. You do not need to know Him completely for you to follow Him. He calls you lovingly into His arms and lets you discover Him slowly, tenderly and in your own way. I pray God reveals Himself to you and that you accept His offer of love upon you because yes, He loves you with an everlasting love! (Jer 31:3)

God's not "cute", He is beautiful.
