I have a really great music teacher and coach. He is called, Isaac (Hi, Teacher!).

He is really working hard to level me up in regards to my vocals. He is currently teaching me on the Major and Minor keys. There is this thing he keeps mentioning, arpeggio. Ah, I hate it so much! This is because it is new and unnatural for the untrained ear. It pushes you to think about the key, and I do not like thinking through keys as I sing, okaaaayyy :D But one thing that learning the Major and Minor keys has taught me is this: I need more practice!

I couldn't help but picture my own spiritual walk. In my earlier blog, I spoke a bit about my journey and how God turned my life upside down in order for Him to finally use me the way He has always wanted to. I am definitely in a better place now with God but I always find myself in a place of constant learning. I think I have gotten one thing and then bam! God brings a new thing for me to start working on. I have come to see that there is no such thing as a 'place of arrival' in God's Kingdom. There is always something new to work on and there is always something that needs to die in us so that we can be more alive in Christ.

I sometimes go off-pitch during practice (Isaac takes this very professionally, btw haha) and he is always ready to correct me with love. He however leaves me with the burden of practicing so that my skill can be sharpened. For me to show up as a great vocal artist, I will need practice and I cannot run away from the process!

I go off-pitch in my life as well. I have before and still do, sometimes. I am not perfect. But I am so thankful that God is as faithful a teacher as He is as God. He leaves me with assignments when He feels I need a little more polishing. He never misses His lectures. He trains my voice daily, that I may minister a fresh word from Him without residue from a fallen past. He reminds me that the more I practice the things He teaches me, the better I become. That the more I give myself to growth, the more I will grow. I did nothing to deserve Him as teacher and friend, but I sure am glad that He never let me go when my voice needed the pitching practice!

This is for you today, especially if you feel that your life is a tad bit off-pitch. It is not too off to be salvaged. God is such a sweet teacher, you'll see!
