Hosea 4:6: "...my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." Sometimes we think too lowly of spiritual things just because we do not exactly 'see' things unfolding. Whether we choose to believe it or not, there are things and events that actively unfold in the spiritual realm. There are events that absolutely cannot be explained by science or logic but can be explained by faith.
God is many things at the same time. He is Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Eternal, Loving, Mighty, Faithful... But today, I am pulling at His identity as a man of war.
"The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name." (Ex 15:3.)
Spiritual warfare is a vast topic that requires a prepared heart and submitted mind to receive. This blog may not be sufficient to explain, either. But I will initiate it by stating this: For so long as you are here on earth, you WILL face attack and you WILL face warfare on all levels, but mainly from "principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places." (Eph 6:12).
Here is a fact, when Satan was flung down from Heaven and lost authority as a heavenly being, he declared warfare against God and His creation (Hint: you, one made in God's image). Satan hates you and he wants you dead, defeated and lastly wants you to be lost eternally, just to prove a point to God that he can still destroy. His time will come at the end of age, and he knows the fight is fixed. So he is rushing against time in order to plunder God's work as much as possible.

Back to the point, yes?
As a minister of God's work and as a child of God, I too have faced intense warfare. Some levels too deep to reveal. During a time of intense warfare where I was severely battered and bruised, God led me to ponder deeply on war His way.
Random fact: Did you notice how the Israelites won their battles and conquests using different techniques? (Ex. the defeat of the Egyptians, the fall of the wall of Jericho, the fight against the Midianites, the fight against the Amalekites and the battle against the Philistines etc please read through these examples. They are powerful!). It was as if God wanted to show off His might and show just how mighty He is and how numerous His wonders are. (First of all, I stan!)
Since God is a man of war, He calls us to emulate Him in fighting and contending for what belongs to us.
If you saw a robber coming into your house and you had weapons more powerful than theirs, would you roll over and hide under your bed? No, you would not. Then why do we scatter in fear of a defeated foe and let him steal, kill and destroy what belongs to us? It is time to pick up the spiritual weapons, folks!
Sometimes God miraculously pulls you through a matter with little of your own intervention and sometimes He calls you to pick up your mat and walk.
I so far have revelation of three arms of war:
1. Praise and worship
In my earlier blog, I mentioned that worship is your warship. Praise and worship seems docile, but is one of the most powerful weapons of spiritual warfare. By praising and honoring God through worship, your hope and strength is pinned back on God and you give God rightful honor. This causes God to move mightily on your behalf. Praise causes confusion in the enemy's camp and it brings fear to him because he knows your worry has turned into stubborn faith.
See: Joshua 6.

2. The Word that proceeds from your lips
Sometimes God leads you to prophesy your own victory. I know. An all-powerful God with all His might, letting you declare and decree. Sounds quite counter-intuitive, right? On the contrary, this goes in-line with scripture which emboldens us by saying, "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you." (Luke 10:19.)
Your words have so much power. Perhaps that is why it is always said that we ought to be really careful about what we confess over our lives.
Job 22:28: "Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways."
This is why our minds are under so much warfare. Because if the devil can get you to believe a lie, you will eventually confess it into existence. Confession yields possession, by all means.
Your words have power to activate, release, bind, create, destroy or elevate.
See Ezekiel 37.
So, start declaring and decreeing success!

3. Surrender
This is the most powerful weapon, so I saved it for last.
There is nothing that unleashes God's power and might more than an individual who simply chooses to get out of the way. That's it. Just get out of God's way. Let Him be God. Surrender your heart and life to Him. Then watch Him move.
He says that "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" . This simply means that He will protect you supernaturally as you choose to dwell under His safety. (Ps 91:1)
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith." (1 John 5:4)
Surrendering our desires to God makes room for Him to mold you as a potter molds clay.
Nothing moves God more than honoring Him through obedience. See Abraham!
This is what obedience to God brought Abraham "...the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, 'I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: 'As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God." And God said to Abraham: 'As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised; and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you." (Gen 17:1-11)
Please note that ALL this came to pass but it required obedience and submission. And God always fought for this man.
May we truly learn the art of war the God way. It never fails.
